After a weekend of exciting soccer activity in Coachella, 20 teams walk away with trophies as Day of the Dead Champions & Finalists
Open Soccer Alliance (OSA) hosted yet another successful tournament, this time the 2025 Day of the Dead Tournament in Coachella, in collaboration with the Coachella Youth Soccer Association (CYSA). Hundreds of boys, girls, and co-ed teams came together at Bagdouma Park and 53rd Street Soccer Park to compete against the top teams in Southern California and Arizona, with 20 teams walking away with trophies and medals as champions and finalists from the tournament.
To watch all the exciting activity, OSA hosted professional scouts from Liga MX, including Chivas de Guadalajara’s Hector Cuadros, FC Juarez’s Daniel Martinez, and the return of Club Puebla’s Victor Valdelamar. Several players were identified and held conversations with the scouts to plan a visit for further scouting opportunities.

CHECK OUT THE RESULTS FROM THE WEEKEND
While the soccer season has been underway for a few months, some teams used this tournament as an opportunity to assess their progress ahead of other tournaments. Teams from all over southern California, including the California-Arizona border as well as Calexico made the trip for this special weekend. For the Girls U9 team from Royals AZ, this tournament marked their first major 7v7 tournament, and they did not disappoint their coach, clinching the championship title in their age group.
“The girls have been jumping from 4v4 and 7v7, so this was a little bit of a test, and they were able to come through,” said Coach Leticia.
On behalf of OSA, congratulations to all Day of the Dead Tournament Champions and Finalists, and thank you to all of the teams that participated in the tournament. Make sure to follow OSA on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on all the latest news and tournaments.
