In an exciting game, the younger Scorpions team captured the first Union Cup title with a 5-3 win over FC Scorpions
In an exciting match, Scorpions U18 clinched the first-ever OSA Union Cup Championship in a 5-3 win over FC Scorpions on Sunday, March 16 at Lynwood High School. The tournament began in mid-February with four additional teams including Club Deportivo Juventud, Leopards FC, Gauchos FC and La Maquina.
Scorpions U18 played a strong first half, maintaining ball possession and scoring possession, going to halftime with a strong 3-0 lead over FC Scorpions. However, FC Scorpions had a lot more to say on the field and gave the younger Scorpions team a run for their money as they inched closer on the scoreboard. A penalty kick gave FC Scorpions a breath of fresh air, giving them the motivation to knock in two additional goals within 10 minutes, bringing the game to an exciting 3-2 score.
However, the game wasn’t over for Scorpions U18, and they secured two additional goals that would end the hopes for FC Scorpions, but not without the latter scoring their final goal for the full-time score of 5-3.
FC Scorpions and Scorpions U18 advanced to the final championship match after finishing first and second in the tournament, respectively.
